Implementation of Phil-IRI

Teachers are expected to familiarize themselves with the manual and undergo orientation for proper administration. The Phil-IRI GST is typically administered to an entire class, taking about 30 minutes. Students who score below expectations (a raw score below 14) in the GST then proceed to individually administered Phil-IRI graded passages. Filipino subject teachers (Grades 3-6) and English subject teachers (Grades 4-6) can administer the GST, while ELLN-trained teachers or those with specific training administer the individual graded passages.

Schools are encouraged to utilize their Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) funds for the reproduction and distribution of Phil-IRI materials, which are available on the DepEd LRMDS portal.
